RICHMOND, Va. — GPM Investments has just opened two new Sbarro restaurants inside its E-Z Mart convenience stores in Texas.

The stores, in Texarkana and Kilgore, are part of a strategic partnership with Sbarro. GPM intends to open 50 new Sbarro locations in 2022.

GPM, a wholly owned subsidiary of ARKO Corp., currently has seven total stores open with Sbarro, with four in Village Pantry stores across Indiana and one in a Fas Mart in Virginia.

In these locations, GPM serves Sbarro’s New York-style extra-large pizza slices handmade daily, with freshly prepared and stretched dough, hand-shredded 100% whole milk mozzarella cheese and San Marzano style tomatoes. There are a variety of toppings available along with stromboli, breadsticks, chicken wings, whole pizzas and chicken tenders.

“While customer needs have shifted over the past few years, the demand for affordable, quick meals and snacks has remained a priority to our consumer base, and we’ve expanded our foodservice offerings to fulfill these needs,” said Michael Bloom, executive vice president and chief marketing and merchandising officer at GPM. “We’re proud to provide delicious, inexpensive ready-to-eat foods to our customers, and pizza is an extremely popular choice.”

David Karam, Sbarro CEO, added, “We’re pleased to see the recent success of our partnership and continued growth with GPM. Our customers have enjoyed our authentic New York-style pizza and Italian favorites for more than 60 years, and this expansion is further proof of the demand for pizza and its popularity with consumers.”
