NATO Presents Its Annual Fall Webinar Series

LAKEVILLE, Minn. —NATO has recently completed hosting its annual Fall Webinar Series, where the organization brings in industry experts to provide educational webinars for tobacco retailers. The webinar presentations may be viewed at: http://www.natocentral.org/webinars

This year’s Fall Webinar Series consisted of three presentations:

  • On Sept. 29, Bonnie Herzog, a senior financial analyst at Goldman Sachs, provided a presentation titled “Current Trends and What’s Ahead in Tobacco/Nicotine.” In her position with Goldman Sachs, Herzog analyzes the financial aspects of the tobacco and nicotine product categories. The insights that she provided were very informative for every segment of the industry, from retail to wholesale to manufacturing.
  • On Oct. 13, Don Burke, the senior vice president of Management Science Associates, presented a webinar titled “Total U.S. Nicotine Trends.” The webinar focused on current sales trends based on wholesale shipments to retailers for each kind of tobacco product and cannabidiol (CBD) products as well as sales by the different trade channels such as convenience stores and tobacco stores.
  • On Oct. 20, Thomas Briant, the executive director of NATO, presented a webinar titled "Tobacco Regulatory and Legislative Update."  This webinar provided a current update on FDA tobacco regulations and PMTA decisions, federal cigarette and tobacco tax increase legislation and state legislation impacting tobacco retailers and the entire tobacco industry.
