Wawa calls it “improve access to our customers.” When the pandemic lockdowns started, the chain moved to full-service coffee, expanded door-to-door delivery to all its markets, added grocery staples to mobile app ordering, adjusted store designs to meet new customer needs, grew curb-side pickup, and accelerated plans for Wawa drive-thru concepts.

Chief Strategy Officer Alex Costabile in partnership with several Wawa teams, including operations, technology, real estate, marketing, people and legal, drove several of these efforts to better equip Wawa’s associates to serve customers.
