MAPCO Express officially began its working relationship with DoorDash in late March and rolled out store delivery in late April, according to Kevin Brunger, vice president of IT, and Claudio Daguerressar, vice president of marketing, MAPCO Express, Franklin, Tenn.

The chain had started work on delivery before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and its early work allowed MAPCO to adapt to changing circumstances. But the duo driving delivery at MAPCO knows the company will have to stay nimble. The company is taking the best parts of brick-and-mortar and online retail to craft its consumer-facing offer. “MAPCO is the last mile because we’re part of the communities we’re in,” says Brunger.
