OCEAN CITY, N.J. — The new Spiked Coconut Water Islands Variety Pack from Latino-founded Osena features four flavors:
- Divine Guava
- Exotic Pineapple
- Lush Dragon Fruit
- Ripe Mango
Ocean City, N.J.-based Osena started in 2020 with its original spiked coconut water, then added a pineapple flavor. The success of those two offerings led to the Islands spiked coconut water collection.
Osena Spiked Coconut Water is among the entries in the growing movement of alcohol-based wellness drinks, the company said, and is in stores in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The spiked coconut water contains zero sugar and naturally occurring electrolytes from fair trade, sustainably produced coconuts, the company said. With a tropical profile, Osena offers a natural hint of sweetness and is 100 calories per 12-ounce can, with 5% ABV.
Co-founders Chris Allen and Vicente Surraco, both New Jersey natives, met at college while studying business, bonded over the similarities of their Latin American families, then decided to create a venture that reflected their values, Osena said.
“The founders know how culturally important coconut water is in Latin markets, where it is an everyday beverage, and thus knew Osena would resonate with people from these cultures as well,” the company said. “Osena’s values resonate with those who live an active life, with the desire to enjoy themselves when out with friends and still be on their game the next day.”
