BOSTON -- Texas retailer Buc-ee’s is the convenience-store chain with the highest-rated restrooms in the nation, according to GasBuddy app users. The mobile gas-price service has revealed which gas-station and convenience-store brands have the highest-rated restrooms, and Buc-ee's took top honors.
QuikTrip, however, topped the list for a second year in a row for best bathrooms in the most states, with seven. Wawa came in second, with six states, followed by Chevron, Cumberland Farms, Kum & Go and Maverik, each with three states.
According to GasBuddy’s 2018 summer travel survey, 37% of respondents said one of their worst fears when on a trip is being unsure of where to stop for a clean restroom.
“We all understand the high level of stress when it comes to needing to use the restroom while on the road,” said Frank Beard, convenience-store and retail trends analyst with GasBuddy. “According to our research, more than half of consumers said that a clean restroom is mandatory when considering where to stop.”
In a recent GasBuddy report, gas stations with above-average restroom ratings on GasBuddy experienced a 33% increase in foot traffic compared to those with below-average ratings.
