WAWA, Pa. -- Philadelphia-area residents can now cater their events with Wawa—just in time for the holiday season.

The catering menu includes breakfast, lunch and snacking options, such as bagel trays, hoagies, soft pretzels and coffee and cold drinks. As part of the service, Wawa associates will deliver and set up the custom spread.

Although poised for expansion, the catering service is only available in Center City Philadelphia and surrounding neighborhoods.

“We are thrilled to now be able to offer this Wawa experience right into the homes, offices and social spaces of our hometown customers with a fully customized experience,” said Steve Hackett, catering and delivery project manager for Wawa. “At Wawa, we believe we exist to go beyond filling orders to fulfill the lives of our customers, every day. With this new catering and delivery offer, we are thrilled to take the next step in that commitment and be a part of even more customers’ lives in an entirely new way.”

Customers can place their orders through WawaCatering.com or call in to a separate hotline.

Wawa is not the only foodservice operator betting on catering. Swept up in the off-premise boom, the 2017 catering market grew to $58.1 billion, up from $55.5 billion in 2016, according to Technomic’s Catering Insights Program. Some restaurants are looking to catering, in addition to delivery, as a long-term strategy to boost sales. Both McDonald’s and Dunkin’ have deployed catering tests in the last year.

With 789 convenience stores, Wawa ranked No. 9 in CSP’s 2018 Top 202 list of the largest c-store chains in the United States. The company is based in Wawa, Pa.
