The newest Country Club Car Wash location in St. Louis doubles down on retailing with a 4,500-square-foot convenience store with 16 fueling positions out front and a collection of c-store staples inside, including snacks, candy, roller-grill items and fresh foods.

The six-store chain created a c-store space that is open and inviting, as well as easy to shop. The store’s interior features high ceilings, exposed ductwork and LED lighting.

The checkout counter is opposite the store entrance for ease of traffic and security. A unique design detail is the reclaimed barn wood used along the walls.

Country Club Car Wash

What the Experts Say

Country Club Car Wash not only is good for a car wash, it competes with any other convenience-store offering. If I have to wait while my car is being washed, this is the place I would want to do it. The materials used consist of stone, wood, tile and other high-end products. My favorite part of this design is the coffee area; I could totally see myself getting a cup of gourmet coffee and ruining my diet with a doughnut on a sunny Saturday while my car is detailed. This is what I call a paradigm shift in an industry. —Mike Lawshe, president and CEO, Paragon Solutions
