Fresh foods and a wide variety of dispensed and packaged beverages are a hallmark of the family-owned Newcomb Oil's FiveStar convenience stores in Kentucky and Indiana. The majority are in the chain's home state of Kentucky. Breakfast choices include biscuits, sandwiches and breakfast plates with a customer's choice of items. Hot deli foods, as well as hamburgers and sandwiches, are available at lunch time. Salads, subs, wraps and sandwiches are on the menu all day. The chain typically adds four or five new stores per year, and 2019 was no exception, starting with a grand opening in Owensboro, Ky., in January 2019. Newcomb Oil also distributes fuel to about 30 dealers.

FiveStar keeps customer engaged with an active Facebook page that often features Category Manager Tim Young in a variety of disguises. Customer comments frequently mention friendly service and clean restrooms.
