Truenorth Energy operates truenorth, a regional chain of large-format convenience stores operating primarily in Illinois, Michigan and Ohio. In 2019, Truenorth acquired Schmuckal Oil, adding 25 stores and extending Truenorth's reach into Michigan. It added six new stores in 2020, "making inroads" into the market through new construction. The company strives to offer friendly and fast service in a clean, safe and modern environment. A large selection of grab-and-go food items are available, including sandwiches, wraps, yogurt, vegetables, and dip and fruit. The TrueBrew coffee station offers several freshly prepared pots of coffee, and the TrueOasis fountain beverage station features soft drinks and frozen slushy drinks.
