Warren, Pa.-based United Refining Co. (URC) added 18 convenience stores in 2020, most of them through the December acquisition of Acorn Markets Inc. and Putnam Co.URC is an independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products and the parent company of convenience stores in Pennsylvania and portions of Ohio and New York. The company operates gas stations, convenience stores, truckstops, restaurants and garages. The c-stores are branded Kwik Fill, Red Apple Food Marts and Country Fair. Each is a separate retail division, operated independently, with separate company headquarters and management staffs.
