The Spinx Co. in summer 2020 launched its Cluk Truk food truck, which serves the Greenville, S.C.-based company's well-known Southern fried chicken. Menu items include chicken tenders, Buffalo chicken snack wrap, chicken tender slider and chicken tender sandwich.

"We are so excited to offer a new and enjoyable way to serve the Upstate community," said Stewart Spinks, company founder and chairman. "This has been a long-time dream in the making, and we believe that it will provide a unique way to introduce our legendary fried chicken to even more people across the state."

Each year for 20 years, the company hosts its annual Charity Golf Classic Tournament, which to date has raised more than $1.3 million to help fund 25 charities. Beneficiaries have included the American Red Cross, Safe Harbor, Loaves and Fishes, Pendleton Place and the Children's Museum of the Upstate. May 2021 marks the 21st tournament.

Spinx, which began in 1972 with a home heating oil delivery service and one convenience store in Greenville, operates 84 locations, including c-stores and tunnel car washes. Newest c-stores have full-service kitchens. The company employs more than 1,400 associates through its stores, food operations and related businesses.

Company leader Steve Spinks in 2019 was named one of the area's "50 Most Influential" by Greenville, S.C.'s Greenville Business Magazine.
