In 2021, Jacksons Food Stores, which runs 297 locations in seven Western states, acquired 62 7-Eleven and Speedway locations with fuel in Arizona, California and Nevada. The deal with 7-Eleven Inc. closed in October.

The family of Jackson companies owns, operates or supplies more than 1,997 stores across nine western states. The companies are vertically integrated, with fuel supplied to more than 1,100 locations in eight states by Jacksons Energy, full-line grocery and supplies distributed through Capitol Distributing, and fresh food products supplied through Capitol Kitchens.

In 2017, Jacksons entered a joint-venture partnership with San Ramon, Calif.-based Chevron Corp. to franchise and grow the oil company’s ExtraMile c-store brand. Jacksons Food Stores Inc., a private company, manages its own stores, while the joint-venture entity, called ExtraMile Convenience Stores, oversees its ExtraMile locations as a franchisor.

The company’s retail network includes a mix of c-stores, travel centers and car washes. Jacksons Energy is a jobber for more than 1,150 dealer sites, delivering fuel brands 76, Chevron, Conoco, Exxon, Mobil, Phillips 66, Shell and Texaco.

For benchmarking purposes, store counts are as of Jan. 1, 2022.
