Refuel Operating Co. LLC added 62 convenience stores in 2021, including the acquisitions of 18 Wag-A-Bag stores in Texas in May, 28 ALCO c-stores in the Carolinas in August and nine Buck’s c-stores in Texas in September. The increase raised up Refuel on CSP’s Top 202 list to No. 45 from 64. The chain has goals to acquire 60 to 70 stores a year and add 10 new builds a year.

Refuel is a retail and wholesale fuel distribution and convenience-store business established in 2018. It aims to provide clean and attractive c-stores with hot and fresh foods and grab-and-go snacks with “good-natured hospitality [and] local flavor,” according to its website.
