The Blarney Oil Co. owns and operates 120 convenience stores throughout Michigan. More than 80 of the chain's stores are branded EZ Mart, while some units and kiosks remain under the fuel brand name.
EZ Mart stores can be divided into two groups, with 60% of the sites in the northern area of the state and the remaining locations in the more populated areas south. The northern customer in the summer is the tourist, and the remainder of the year it is the trades preparing for tourist season.
Customer appreciation is this chain's competitive advantage. Each summer the management team embarks on a “Lucky You” Customer Appreciation Tour, visiting several EZ Mart locations each week, and customers participate in these free-of-charge celebrations.
