Flash Market Inc., based in West Memphis, Ark., owns and operates about 70 Flash Market stores, and another dozen convenience stores are operated by independent dealers. The majority of them are in Arkansas, with some in Alabama, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee. The company markets and distributes a variety of different fuel brands, namely CITGO, Conoco, Phillips, Shell and Valero. The majority of Flash Market locations fly the CITGO flag. About 60 stores offer food prepared on site.
The first Flash Market opened in 1985 with the mission of always providing customers with the finest motor fuels, merchandise and foodservice items “at competitive prices in an atmosphere of superior service.” The company is known for having very competitive prices in all categories, yet it is seeing some of its greatest in-store successes in the foodservice category. Stores offer a Flash Card fleet-fueling program, which was introduced in 2004, to help professional drivers manage their fuel purchases. Most locations are open 24 hours a day.
The company has not delved seriously into social media yet, although a few stores have Facebook pages.
