Pilot Flying J became the nation’s largest operator of truck stops and the largest seller of diesel fuel to over-the-road truckers after the merger of Pilot Travel Centers and Flying J.
Pilot Flying J is one of the top 10 privately held companies in the United States, with more 690 outlets in nearly every U.S. state and six Canadian provinces. It employs about 25,000 people.
The chain continues to expand, with more national restaurant offerings at many locations. Brand additions to Flying J locations in the network include Denny’s, Subway and Pizza Hut.
The company has continued to upgrade drivers’ lounges, add new gasoline and diesel pumps, enhance showers and remodel restrooms at many locations.
All Flying J travel centers or truck stops in the United States and Canada offer an expanded coffee/deli bar with many blends and flavors of coffee. Additional acquisitions and remodeling are ongoing throughout the chain.
