Maverik Inc. describes its c-stores in 10 Western states as “Adventure’s First Stop,” a theme that carries onto the fuel island, where the canopy is painted blue like the sky and outdoor adventure scenes decorate fuel dispensers. With a market efficiency of 2.79 in 2017, the Maverik fuel brand is clearly getting customers’ business.

The chain’s newest c-stores act as a magnet, with the newest locations approaching 5,000 square feet and dedicating more than 40% of their space to foodservice, as well as indoor and outdoor seating.

Maverik’s Adventure Club loyalty program offers 2 CPG off fuel purchases, while the chain’s Adventure Club Nitro debit card provides a 6-CPG discount. Maverik has its own fleet card with volume-based discounts.

In 2017, the chain added EV fast-charging stations to sites in Utah as part of the state’s “Mighty Five Electric Vehicle Corridor Initiative,” providing EV drivers a path from Salt Lake City to Zion National Park, with plans to add more.
