Alliance Energy LLC is wholly owned by Global Partners LP, and combined, the two operate or supply some 1,000 stations across the Northeast, with Alliance Energy serving as the marketing arm to Global Partners.

The past couple of years have been rather busy. In 2012, Global Partners acquired 190 stores across three states from ExxonMobil Corp. for $200 million as Big Oil, notably ExxonMobil, BP and Shell, were divesting thousands of sites. Under the agreement, Global Partners secured the right to supply Mobil-branded gasoline and diesel fuel to those stations and another group of Mobil stations owned and operated by independent dealers. Meanwhile, Alliance Energy handled the day-to-day management and operations.

In 2013, the company launched its new store brand, Alltown, which offers a proprietary foodservice concept called Alltown Café. By late that year, 45 units in New England were converted to Alltown Convenience Stores.
