A 70-year-old, privately held company with a dairy background, Cumberland Farms has nearly 600 stores stretching along the Eastern Seaboard, and sister company Gulf Oil has more than 2,000 branded sites in 25 states (plus Puerto Rico and District of Columbia). In addition to supplying gas to Cumberland Farms’ stores, Gulf also supplies 350 assured-dealer locations, wherein Gulf owns the real estate but the stores are operated by third-party retailers. Cumberland Farms purchased the national rights to the Gulf brand outright from Chevron in early 2010.

Cumberland Farms is the largest convenience-store and gasoline marketer in the Northeast, and growing. Its network of retail stores, gas stations and a support system including petroleum and grocery distribution operations spans 11 states across the Northeast and Florida.
