K-VA-T Food Stores Inc. is a privately held, family-owned company operating 150 retail outlets spanning five states—Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. Based in Abingdon, Virginia, the chain includes 131 Food City locations (with 119 pharmacies and 116 fuel centers, five of those being convenience stores), six Fresh n' Low/Cooke's locations, four Super Dollar Food Center limited assortment stores, four wine & spirits stores and five Curt's Ace Hardware Stores.
