American Gas & Oil

American Gas & Oil Inc. operates retail locations in and around central Michigan, including several acquired in 2015 located in the Grand Rapids, Mich., area. The company converted former Meijer gas stations and convenience stores to CITGO-branded units in this area. These rebranded units were positioned on the same parcel as larger Meijer supercenters.

The company’s acquisition strategy is aligned with a goal to provide one-stop shopping for customers by having the fueling stations connected to existing Meijer supercenters on a single footprint. These locations are based in Michigan communities of Alpine Township, Byron Township, Greenville, Kentwood and Lansing.

Company executives regard American Gas & Oil as being in a growth mode. The company also regularly scouts for retail deals that fall in line with its one-stop-shopping game planning.
