Operating under the slogan “Making Life EZR 4 U,” E-Z Mart was led by Sonja Hubbard before GPM Investments acquired E-Z Mart’s convenience-store units in December 2017. (It remains on the list because the sale closed after the Top 202’s benchmarking cutoff of Dec. 31, 2017). The Texas-based family-run operation was founded in 1970 by Jim and FaEllen Yates and remained a family business until its sale. In addition to Hubbard, who served as E-Z Mart’s CEO, other family members in the business included CFO Stacy Yates and Hubbard’s husband, Bob Hubbard.
