Byrne Dairy Co.

Byrne Dairy is a working dairy and convenience-store chain in upstate New York in its third generation of family ownership. The first store location opened in Central Square, N.Y., in 1954, although the company has been in the dairy business since 1933.

Besides offering Byrne Dairy milk, ice cream and other dairy products, many sites now feature delis, with sandwiches, salads, pizza, wings, hamburgers and hot dogs on the menu. Some locations also have a Shelby’s Donuts offer, with freshly baked doughnuts, cookies, muffins and cheesecake from Byrne Dairy’s bakery in Syracuse, N.Y.

Byrne Dairy is active in social-media marketing. It also has a loyalty club that sends discounts to customers’ smartphones.
