In April 2019, Marathon Petroleum Corp. and its Speedway LLC subsidiary entered into a definitive purchase agreement to acquire NOCO Energy Corp.’s 33 NOCO Express convenience stores. Marathon said it will rebrand the NOCO locations to its Speedway brand.

NOCO is one of the largest private employers in western New York with more than 600 employees. It is a third-generation family-owned and locally operated company with more than 80 years of experience in the energy business. It sells gasoline, diesel, propane, natural gas and electricity, as well as propane and heating and cooling oil.

The chain’s objective is sourcing and selling the freshest, highest-quality beverage and food offerings, demonstrated with brands such as Nickel City Foods, Tim Hortons, Subway, Charlie the Butcher and Mighty Taco. Nickel City Foods also provides catering services to the local community.
