Childers Oil Co.

Childers Oil Co. operates a network of more than 40 Double Kwik convenience stores in eastern Kentucky and southwest Virginia. Double Kwik operates under the management of Hometown Convenience LLC, a subsidiary of Childers Oil Co. Childers Oil Co. also provides bulk petroleum services to retail and industrial customers. The company operates a restaurant called Pine Mountain Grill.

Units are about 1,000 to 2,500 square feet, and some stores have a seating area for the coffee bar. Foodservice is provided in limited-service, self-service and quick-service formats. Stores in rural areas offer a wider variety of grocery items such as soup, cereal and household paper goods. A limited frozen-food section is available at some stores. Dairy products include milk, eggs, cheese and ice cream.

Double Kwik carries health and beauty care items from both Lil’ Drug Store and Convenience Valet in a mix of private-label and name brands. Other services include money orders, gift cards and lottery tickets.
