Formed in 2012, CrossAmerica distributes branded and unbranded fuels in the United States to about 1,300 locations and owns or leases about 900 sites. Its general partner, CrossAmerica GP LLC, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Couche-Tard.

CrossAmerica Partners is reportedly one of ExxonMobil's largest distributors by fuel volume, and it has relationships with BP, Shell, Chevron, Sunoco, Valero, Gulf, CITGO, Marathon and Phillips 66. It operates more than 75 convenience stores in the Upper Midwest, including the company-owned Freedom Valu Centers chain and franchise locations of select SuperAmerica and Holiday Stationstores.

In December 2018, in a deal said to provide a “blueprint” for future transactions, Couche-Tard announced it was selling 192 company-operated Circle K convenience stores in the United States to CrossAmerica Partners. CrossAmerica then sold the real estate of 56 former CST Brands Inc. c-stores leased and operated by Couche-Tard and 17 c-stores in the Upper Midwest, including some Holiday Stationstores sites, to Couche-Tard.
