Parkland Fuel has been in steady acquisition mode since 2016, and through its U.S. subsidiary, Parkland USA, it invested in and partnered with mobile fueling service Filld in 2018. Through this investment, in which Filld brings fuel to the customer, Parkland said it wanted to offer customers a choice in how they get fuel—and one day maybe snacks, a soda or a sandwich. It is the exclusive fuel supplier for Filld in Canada and is a preferred supplier in the United States, where it has its Superpumper stores, a regional c-store chain based in Minot, N.D.

Parkland expanded its U.S. footprint when it acquired Missouri Valley Petroleum Inc., in North Dakota in summer 2018. The acquisition included six convenience stores and three cardlocks. This spring, the company expanded again with the acquisition of KB Oil, a bulk fuel and lubricants distributor and operator of fleet fueling, convenience stores and cardlock services in southwestern Utah and southeastern Nevada. Parkland distributes Chevron- and Esso-branded gasoline, diesel, propane, heating oil and other petroleum products in Canada and the United States.

Parkland USA has convenience stores and more than 200 dealers in 11 states. Its Superpumper locations are in North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Minnesota. It also operates nine Harts Food & Gas locations in Utah and Colorado. The dealers operate under the Sinclair, Exxon, Phillips 66, Arco, Cenex and Chevron brands. Parent company Parkland Fuels has customers in Canada, the United States, the Caribbean and the Americas through three channels: retail, commercial and wholesale. It acquired most of the Canadian business and assets of CST Brands Inc. from Laval, Quebec-based Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. in June 2017.
