Royal Farms owns and operates convenience stores in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and New Jersey. It advertises itself as the go-to place for breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner and gasoline. Its popular fried chicken program helps set it apart from the competition. To strengthen the value equation around fried chicken, Royal Farms has also been promoting family-size meal deals at a special price, squaring off against chicken chains. It also offers Thanksgiving meals, anchored by its signature fried chicken.

Royal Farms added 15 new stores in 2018, including opening its 200th location.

Touchscreen ordering is a focal point of Royal Farms’ foodservice model. Private-label products include coffee, soft drinks, grocery items and water. The average store size is 2,800-4,500 square feet.

The chain sells gasoline under the Royal Farms brand. It also offers a network of DC fast chargers, as well as some Level 2 electric-vehicle chargers. Stores offer a fleet fuel program.

Some Royal Farms stores are Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified.
