Childers Oil Co.

Operating under the management of Hometown Convenience LLC, Childers Oil established a presence in eastern Kentucky and southwest Virginia under the Double Kwik mark. It also operates a restaurant known as Pine Mountain Grill. Store units range from 1,000 to 2,500 square feet, with some offering seating areas in proximity to its coffee bars. Foodservice is provided in limited-, self- and quick-service formats. Stores in rural areas offer a wider variety of grocery items such as soup, cereal and household paper goods, while a limited frozen-food section is available at some stores. Dairy products include milk, eggs, cheese and ice cream.

Double Kwik also carries health and beauty care items in a mix of private label and name brands. Other services include money orders, gift cards and lottery tickets.

In February 2020, Double Kwik introduced DailyPay technology that enables employees to get paid daily, weekly or on-demand. With DailyPay, after employees clock out of a shift, pay is calculated and then banked. The available balance is shown on an employee's DailyPay app and can be transferred to a bank account.
