MFA Oil Co. operates 74 convenience stores branded Break Time. The total number of stores remains steady because the company opened a large truck stop with a restaurant in 2019 and simultaneously closed a small store that was in the nearby area.

Seven Break Time stores have drive-through service that initially was designed for foodservice but began allowing customers to pick up most items from the stores in 2020 due to shutdowns during to the Coronavirus pandemic. "We are now considering curbside service for all of our stores," said Anita Bichsel, marketing manager. All stores are in Missouri and Arkansas and feature proprietary Dashboard Diner sandwiches, as well as a full variety of beverages, snacks, candy and general merchandise.

MFA Oil is a farmer-owned cooperative that began in the early 1900s. The company delivers propane, fuels and lubricants across an eight-state region from Kansas to Indiana. Besides the Break Time convenience stores, MFA Oil operates Big O Tires retail locations in Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma, as well as Jiffy Lube service stations in mid-Missouri.

For benchmarking purposes, store counts are year-end 2019.
