Tri Star Energy LLC

Tri Star Energy LLC owns and operates Twice Daily stores, White Bison coffee shops and a wholesale fuel division throughout Middle Tennessee. The Nashville, Tenn.-based company is consistently ranked among the best companies to work for in Nashville and supports many charitable causes and local culture. It employs about 1,200 people.

Founded in 2000, Tri Star is a joint venture between the Parman Corp., Shell and Kimbro Oil Co., established in 1968. The Twice Daily brand has been established since 2011, with 89 stores as of the end of 2019 and another opened in 2020. Shell gasoline, daily promotions, fresh foods and local products such as Tennessee's Christie Cookies are hallmarks of the Twice Daily stores.

The White Bison coffee shop concept was introduced in late 2017 as a growth strategy. It prompted a new store layout that has the coffee shop on one side, the convenience store on the other side, and the checkout in the middle. Some sites offer drive-through coffee service. All stores remained open during this year's coronavirus pandemic, generating strong inside sales but suffering from out of stocks due to challenges in the supply chain.
