Del Rio

Based in El Paso, Texas, Almacenes Distribuidores de la Frontera is a self-distributor and operator of convenience- and grocery-store outlets in Mexico, including about 200 c-stores branded Del Rio or Oasis, 25 small grocery stores called Superette and five gasoline stations. The company, which employs 2,000 people, buys through its warehouse in El Paso, Texas, and self-distributes to the stores in Mexico. The company also uses Core-Mark for distribution.

Some locations feature an in-store bakery and offer prepared foods and deli services. Stores are known for offering excellent and fast service in a clean environment. While Spanish is the primary language spoken at the company and the stores, buyers also speak and conduct business in English.

The Mexican chain plans to open more stores in 2014-2015, but an exact number has not been determined. The chain opened three stores in Juarez in 2013 and five stores in 2012. The retailer has an extensive website with dozens of promotions. El Club de Lizardo, or the Lizard Club page, offers coloring pages, activities and games for kids.
