Family-run Terrible Herbst’s mustachioed "Bad Guy" cowboy logos have been fixtures of the Nevada landscape since Terrible's opened for business in Las Vegas in 1959. The company has grown dramatically over the last 70 years, but continues to focus on customer service. Product knowledge, quick, efficient service, and a friendly smile are trademarks of the gasoline stations/convenience stores.
All Terrible Herbst c-store locations sell gasoline, and nearly all sell beer and wine. Stores are open 24 hours a day. The chain partners with Sara Lee for its breakfast and lunch program, which includes Ball Park hot dogs, Hillshire Farms sausage and cheddarwurst, and Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches.
Sustainability is also a focus of Terrible Herbst. About one-half of Terrible's car washes are "green," using eco-friendly cleaning products and substantially less water per car. Also, the company recycles 40% to 50% of its trash, approximately 9 tons per week.
Two Terrible Herbst stores were set to open in 2014, with an additional two planned for 2015.
