Kwik Fill/Red Apple

With the slogan “Driving America,” United Refining Co.’s Kwik Fill/Red Apple convenience stores promise customers they can “Keep America strong when they buy American-made gasoline” at its locations. United Refining uses only North American crude oil, refined in Pennsylvania. The company is known for its fresh coffee, American-made gasoline, credit-card discounts and loyalty programs.

Founded in 1902, the company prides itself on remaining independent in an increasingly small market. Its retail section includes service station/convenience stores, truckstops, restaurants and service garages. It has another convenience-store brand, Country Fair, that was acquired in 2001.

Kwik Fill/Red Apple locations range from freestanding gas stations with no convenience store to large, 5,000-square-foot units with many departments and full prepared-food centers, and many in between with small- and medium-sized c-stores. Kwik Fill/Red Apple has 120 locations that offer full service at the pump at no additional cost.
