Truenorth Energy LLC is a joint venture of Truenorth Holdings and Shell Oil with more than 100 company-operated and 198 dealer-operated stores. The family-run chain lives by its motto "Fast, Friendly, Clean," with its truenorth convenience stores known for their consistency, cleanliness and friendly staff. 

Stores carry the store brand to many of its services: truebrew (coffee bar), trueoasis (fountain drinks) and truewash (car washes). The chain has been upgrading and expanding its foodservice offerings, including a grab-and-go offering merchandised in an open-air cooler. Customer loyalty is encouraged with fountain-drink and coffee-club cards, a fuel-savings card and a loyalty card.

Truenorth is renovating and upgrading existing stores on an ongoing basis. Recent improvements include increasing the number of cooler doors to 20, adding beer caves and enhancing its signature items: coffee, cold vault, front counter and restrooms. The newest locations feature energy-efficient LED lighting inside and out.

The company is poised for more growth in the coming months, including acquisitions if the right properties come along.
